To get smooth light on a sunny day, the best time to shoot is one hour before the sunset. It is a golden hour. The light is bright and yellow, but there are no strong shadows. Most photographers prefer to photograph exactly during this time. But my favorite time is one hour after the sunset. The light is magical and smooth. When I like to play with the shadows, I shoot around noon.

This portrait photo shoot started two hours before the sunrise. It was a partially cloudy day. So we got different types of light. It was a smooth light, light with strong shadows, we shot in a golden hour, and right after the sunrise.

There are a few examples of photo shoots with different light conditions
